Swedish Massage

September 19, 2017

Do you have aches and pains? Let the massage therapist at Studio 52 work that soreness away.  Swedish massage is the most common and best known type of massage in the West. It is also the foundation for other types of massages. These other types include sports massage and deep tissue massage. A Swedish massage usually uses soft pressure with long strokes that move the circulatory system  If you want the therapist to work deeper or have certain areas that need work, a deep tissue massage might be best for you.

During a massage, the trained, licensed massage therapist uses massage oil to perform various massage strokes. These movements help to warm the muscle tissue and releases tensions. The massage strokes gradually break up the “knots”, or adhesions, in the muscles.  Swedish massage promotes relaxation as well as having other health benefits.

Before your massage, your therapist will ask if you have had any injuries or medical conditions that he, or she, should know about. You will want to tell your therapist about any areas of concern, or tightness which you are experiencing. You should also let them know if you are pregnant. If you are ill, it is best to wait until you are better before scheduling your massage.

At Studio 52, a salon and day spa on the the southeast side of Indianapolis, we have 2 licensed massage therapists. You choose the best day and time that is convenient for your schedule and let our therapists take care of the rest. Call us at 317-861-4628 to schedule your appointment. We look forward to seeing you soon.
